Why an Adventure in Asia?

Why not South America or Europe or even Kansas? Why take an adventure? It didn't start as an adventure. It started 41 years ago when I began working with Asian engineers. Each time I had the good fortune to be a member of a team that was involved in some significant technical discovery or the solution to a challening problem I found myself associated with Asian engineers. I have developed a lot of respect for their abilities and their values. So when my company (Textron, Cessna, Engineering) announced the creation of an engineering office in Bangalore, India I was interested. As the organization in India (Cessna India, CI) grew it generated opportunities for ex-pat postings to India. I volunteered. Incidently, it will be an adventure; one I am looking forward to.

  2. Hi Rob...it was so nice to read your blog. Your 2 year trip to India sounds like a really neat and interesting opportunity to add to your 41 years with Cessna. Reading your experiences is so cool because I will never have the opportunity you are having and I will beable to learn from experience. I do miss talking to you and wish sometime we can all get together maybe some summer in a few years you could all venture down to Bass Lake for our annual hog roast. Be careful and have a wonderful experience in India. We love you Rob and God Bless........Peg and Paul p.s. keep those blogs coming...
